AR Designs Fine Art & Tattoo is proud to welcome Raquel Cuéllar-Parajón to our creative team as our newest apprentice.

A queer Nicaraguan artist and educator, Raquel brings a thoughtful perspective shaped by culture, language, curiosity, and a lifelong connection to creative expression. Her arrival marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter—not only in her artistic journey, but also in the evolving story of AR Designs.

Rooted in Art, Education, and the Berkshires

Raquel moved to the Berkshires in 2019, originally planning to stay for only a few months. Instead, she discovered a place that felt like home.

She quickly became inspired by the quiet beauty surrounding her—the towering trees, wild violets, neighborhood cats, and unexpected details encountered during long, meandering walks through town. These small moments of connection continue to influence the way Raquel observes the world and approaches creativity.

Raquel holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Keiser University and a Masters in Education focusing on Curriculum Development and Teaching at Boston University. She is fully trilingual, speaking English, Spanish, and Nicaraguan sign language.

Throughout her professional life, she has contributed to educational initiatives that bring together three of her greatest passions: language, art, and education.

A New Creative Chapter

At AR Designs, Raquel is expanding her prior artistic practice in fine art painting, illustration and embroidery into the world of tattooing through a structured apprenticeship built around technical development, artistic growth, professional responsibility, and meaningful mentorship.

As her tattoo portfolio develops, Raquel is welcoming clients interested in black & gray linework and shading. She loves the challenge of designing tattoos that feel uniquely tailored to each client - walk-ins & appointments alike. Each appointment provides an opportunity to work with an emerging local artist as she thoughtfully transforms ideas into lasting pieces of art.

Whether a tattoo represents something deeply personal or is simply a design that brings you joy, every project deserves care and consideration. Raquel’s warm, approachable nature creates an inviting experience for established tattoo collectors and first-time clients alike.
